Duty Zero Grand Opening at Hong Kong International
Hong Kong, July 12, 2018 – CDF-Lagardère Company Limited (the joint venture between China Duty Free Group and Lagardère Travel Retail) opened 8 Liquor and Tobacco stores (3,391sqm) under the brand Duty Zero by cdf at Hong Kong International Airport - marking a new chapter in Global Travel Retail.
The two companies present a new milestone in the development of global duty-free industry by leveraging their unique strengths - CDF’s experience of Chinese consumers and Lagardère Travel Retail’s international experience and global understanding of travelers.
Joining forces – and buying power – has allowed us to bring an extraordinarily broad product mix: a fantastic and unique selection of single-malt whiskies (Aberfeldy, Loch Lomond & Benriach,…) the world largest Chinese liquor and tobacco offer at any airport – with special corners for Maotai and Luzhou Laojiao and the first House of Hennessy boutique at an Asian Pacific airport.
In terms of pricing, we are revamping our pricing model so that our prices are extremely competitive vs other airports across Asia Pacific. We want to raise awareness of the best prices available at HKIA and our general focus has been on keeping prices accessible.
We have also developed a retail experience that will attract multiple age groups to our stores – based around entertainment and engagement (tasting bars, interactive discovery zones, an augmented reality digital bartender…).
A high focus has also been placed on customer service - with dedicated customer-service desks for loyalty club members and an in-store VIP Lounge with one-on-one shopping advice and access to premium limited-editions.
By pulling all of this together, we believe we have created an all-new travel retail proposition – with a trendsetting, top-end image, that is also priced fairly for the passenger.
